Unlock More From Your Studio
We partner with studios—both commercial and private—across the entire United States. This is how we serve musicians everywhere: by giving them the tools, the spaces, and the support they need to thrive.
Why does this matter?
Because putting artists first means creating a world for them—from managers and producers, to education on royalties and distribution, to records, merch, promotion, and now, even a studio. If we want to serve musicians, we have to serve all musicians. That’s what this network is for.
What is Velvet Midnight Studios?
It’s a way to turn your home studio into a revenue-generating business—without doing the business part. If you’ve got a clean, professional, and well-equipped recording space, we’ll help you monetize it by listing it in our network and booking it for you.
How does it work?
You send us a few pictures of your space and fill out a gear checklist. We review everything and, if your setup meets our standards, we assign it an hourly rate and list it in the Velvet Midnight Studio Network. We handle all the marketing, bookings, payments, and customer interaction. You keep the studio clean and professional—we’ll bring the work to you.
How much can I make?
Most partners charge around $50/hour. With regular bookings, many earn $400–$1,250 a month. You earn 50% of all bookings—paid monthly. And you never deal with admin, messaging, or logistics. Just keep your space ready to go.
You keep 50% of all bookings—fully passive income with no admin duties.
Projected for active studios meeting minimum standards. Payouts delivered monthly.
90% of submitted studios pass our initial standards review and get listed within a week.
Are You Ready To Make More From Your Studio ?
Payouts are processed monthly, typically within 31 days after the end of each month. You’ll receive your share of session bookings via your preferred payment method on file. If you believe there’s a payment error, you have 10 business days from the time of statement to dispute it in writing.
It depends on your assigned tier. Entry-tier studios receive 50% of booking revenue, mid-tier earn 55%, and premium-tier partners keep 60%. Your tier is based on your equipment, professionalism, and client experience, and may be adjusted at any time with notice.
From time to time, VMR may offer optional gear upgrade kits, which become your property once delivered. These may include microphones, acoustic panels, or VMR signage. Participation is voluntary and not required for tier status.
Each track may involve three “buckets”: composition, performance, and engineering. Each bucket is eligible for 33% of applicable royalties or a flat fee. Roles must be clearly defined, and only one payment type per role can be selected. VMR has final say on role classification.
Yes, but only if you’ve opted in and checked the appropriate box in your agreement. As a Producer, you may receive up to 33% of the performance royalty or a flat fee. Engineers are eligible for 33% of the distribution royalty or a technical fee. You cannot receive both for the same role.
